Maresias Line

“Wood, such a noble raw material.” I started this work in 1975 reusing woods I found in my way. Making outdoor furniture requires specific woods, and their main quality is their longevity when exposed to time and weather. When I decided to design Maresias Line, to be produced by Butzke, I wanted a light, delicate and long-lasting line. The wood selected for this products line was the Cumaru, which allowed using parts with very thin and resistant sections, enabling to mix hard wood traditional joinery techniques with assemblies made with industrial hardware. For finishing the seat and the headrest, we also chose an environmental friendly strap. This strap makes the furniture more ventilated, light and easier to be at the Brazilian terraces and decks.
